The WIA Teen Council is holding its annual banquet on February 26, 2017 at the Lake City Community Center. Tickets and sponsor forms on website.

The purpose of the Walking In Authority Teen Council (WIA) is to promote the youth interest through active involvement within and throughout the community. WIA aims to help the youth to develop skills in leadership through a council composed of youth who will act as officers and liaisons to the greater youth community. WIA also aims to promote fellowship of its members to both the residential and business communities as well as provide opportunities for its members. WIA will also give the youth an advantage to become better acquainted with local government operations; to discuss problems within the community; to share ideas, skills, and work along with the elected officials, plan activities, and share community responsibilities. The organization serves approximately 30 students per year.
