Lake City Municipal Court
The Municipal Court of Lake City handles misdemeanor offenses such as traffic violations, possession of marijuana, shoplifting and local ordinance violations. The Following Cases Require a Court Appearance:
- Driving with a suspended/revoked license
- No Insurance
- Hit and run/fleeing the scene of an accident
- Possession of marijuana
Citation Fines Payment Information
You may contact the Municipal Court at 404-366-8037 for the fine amount. Fine amounts are not available for cases that require a court appearance until you have appeared in court. You may pay your fine in person, by mail, by phone or online.
Fine payments are accepted at City Hall between the hours of 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM. Payments may be made in person at City Hall up until 4:30 PM the day prior to your assigned court date. Online and phone payments must be made no later than 11:59 PM on the day prior to your assign court date. If you have missed your assigned court date, you cannot pay by phone or online.
Payments may be made by cash or money orders in person or by mail. Debit/credit cards payments can only be made in person, online at ticketfastpay.com or by phone at 1-844-229-2185 (4% convenience is added to the fine). CHECKS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.

If you are not required to appear in court and choose not to appear, you must pay your citation by the last business day prior to the scheduled court date (4:30 PM in person or 11:59 PM online). Payments cannot be made on the day of court until the defendant has been seen by the Judge and a plea has been entered on the case.
Please make sure the citation number(s) appear on the money order. This number is at the top right corner of the citation.
Sending faxed information
The court no longer processes faxed information. Any faxed documents will be held but not considered submitted or official until the original documents are received. The court must have the original documentation in order to take any action or process any motions.
Court Date Continuances
Court dates may be continued by court personnel only once. Please note that any additional continuances must be granted by the Judge on the scheduled court date. Continuance requests must be made before 12:00 PM on the last business day prior to the scheduled court date for arraignment court and no later than 5 business days prior to the scheduled court date for trial court. All continuance requests on the day of court must be granted by the Judge in court.
Requesting a Trial
You must appear on your arraignment date, which is shown on the citation. A trial will be scheduled at that time. All motions for jury trials and/or Indigent Defense representation require a court appearance. There are no exceptions.
Failure to Appear
If you are required to appear in court and fail to appear or are late for a scheduled court appearance your fine will increase. The increased amount is at the sole discretion of the Judge. Failing to appear may also result in a bench warrant being issued for your arrest and/or a suspension of your Georgia driving privileges.
Speaking with the Judge
The Judge will not discuss pending cases outside of the court room, through the mail or over the phone. Any request for a private discussion must be made on your assigned day of court and will take place either at the Judge’s bench or in the Judge’s chambers at the discretion of the Judge.
Speaking with the Prosecutor
There is a Prosecutor available during arraignment and trial courts. All requests to speak with the Prosecutor must be done in person on the day of court.
